
Scholarships
The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® Theta Pi Omega Chapter Scholarship award supports Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Undergraduate students from the Lambda Rho chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ®, and student’s education from Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties, based on academic merit or financial need to pursue their education.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization created to fill a void in education funding. Its mission is to provide financial support to individuals and organizations engaged in lifelong learning. It is one of the few organizations administered by African-American women, with a unique approach to philanthropy.
EAF accomplishes its mission by providing academic scholarships, organizing and conducting volunteer programs, and conducting community service projects. By supporting a wide variety of lifelong learning projects and pursuits, EAF enables people to make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. EAF offers merit and financial scholarships to assist all students in achieving their educational and career goals. Its recipients come from diverse backgrounds; over half are minority women continuing their education.
The EAF site has scholarships through five different categories including:
Merit - Recipients should be a full-time, sophomore or beyond, currently enrolled in an accredited degree- granting institution, minimum 3.0 GPA, and able to demonstrate community service. UG: Due April 15, 2025 & Grad: Due August 15, 2025.
Financial Need - Recipients should be a full-time, sophomore or beyond, currently enrolled in an accredited degree-granting institution, minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate community service. UG: Due April 15, 2025 & Grad: Due August 15, 2025.
Undergraduate Only:
Thrive - Recipients should be a full-time, sophomore or beyond, currently enrolled in an accredited degree-granting institution or accepted if applying as a graduate student, minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrates community service, and have a financial gap in tuition and need assistance to move to the next level of their education or to graduate from college (graduating seniors). Due March 1, 2025.
Launch - Recipients should be a full-time, sophomore or beyond, currently enrolled in an accredited degree-granting institution or accepted if applying as a graduate student, minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrates community service, typically will not qualify for either merit-based or needs-based award, experiencing a financial shortfall, and may also have success in athletic or artistic achievements and demonstrated leadership. Due April 15, 2025.
Y.P.A.C. - Recipients should be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. sophomore or beyond, 3.0 GPA, and Demonstrate Exceptional Academic Achievement or Extreme Financial Need, Participate in Leadership, Volunteer, Civic or Campus Activities. Due April 15, 2025.

This scholarship opportunity is for African American High School Seniors attending college in the Fall of 2025 and residing in Burlington, Camden, or Gloucester Counties, ONLY. Children or guardians of Theta Pi Omega members are ineligible to apply. If granted, the opportunity to apply for our Continuing Education Scholarship will be extended for three years following the initial scholarship award, as long as you remain enrolled in an accredited program.

Should you have received the Undergraduate or HBCU scholarship previously, the opportunity to apply for the Continuing Education scholarship will be extended for a maximum of three years following the initial selection, as long as you are enrolled in an accredited program. The Continuing Education Scholarship is exclusively for applicants.
